Our third day was as full as our second day. We still had some entrance coupons which weren’t used and we thought that we should just choose a few since it was The Great Singapore Sale and we wouldn’t want to miss the sale for the world! 🙂
This is a summary of the last full day that we had 🙂
1) DUCKTOURS. This is both a bus and a boat combined, offering tourists a tour of the city and the harbour without having to switch transport. It takes almost the same route as the river cruise but this one is a bit different since the tour starts on land. Just the same, we had a good, closer look on Singapore’s landmarks on the river banks.

Trips that aren’t planned are sometimes the most fun.
It wasn’t planned because it was Singapore. A few of my closest friends would often hear me say that Singapore is just… Singapore! And nothing else. Well, there’s Sentosa, the flyer, the famous Durian Building and other modern buildings, and electronics. Just those. Period.
And because it wasn’t planned, I didn’t expect anything. I was even wondering what I could do in a very small country which I had already visited a few years back. Was there anything else aside from those which I had seen before? But then, things change, naturally, so there must be.

It wasn’t planned at all but when two high school classmates told us about the Palawan tickets that they just bought during the Cebu Pacific seat sale, Ailyn and I agreed to go without thinking twice for the reason that we will get to travel together again! 🙂
We knew very well that when most of the airlines do their seat sales, we won’t be able to get our money back when we cancel, so, indeed there was no turning back!
It was another adrenalin rush in everything (beating deadlines) before I finally set my foot in the newest airport terminal – Terminal 3! It was my first time to see the interior of this terminal. I would usually pass by the area in getting to South Super Highway from the other airports. And so, even without any sleep, I was excited!
We got to Puerto Princesa early morning and since we took the first flight to the city, we decided to get a few hours rest after checking in and before making ourselves busy with the tours we had in mind.
We started the day touring and found ourselves happily discovering Puerto Princesa more and more each day. Our days in this part of Palawan were all fun. Photos tell a lot of stories and here are some of the photos which form a part of our Palawan get-away story. 🙂

For Paz’s bridal shower, my girlfriends and I decided to skip the conventional shower party (and skip the plane as well) and treat her to a road trip to the south of Luzon. In 2 days, we covered some parts of Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon! 🙂
This road trip was inspired by a witty guide of Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon, called Viaje del Sol, translated in English as the “way of the sun”. The whole concept of Viaje del Sol is to provide travellers, culture and nature-lovers, or adventure-seekers, suggestions of places to visit in these three areas, a road map, or simply a guide to having wonderful times in the south.

Turning Portuguese in Macau 🙂
Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of trying to revisit a country in a day!
This was what I felt when I recently visited Macau from a trip to Hong Kong. When I try to recall my visit to Macau now that I’m back in Manila, I can’t help but be amazed at the energy that I’ve got during that time. It wasn’t my first visit to Macau though. I had one way back in 2002, or was it 2001? But it was about 7 years ago and looking at the place from its tourism advertisements on TV and in travel magazines, Macau has indeed undergone a major facelift. Kudos to its government. Clap. Clap. Clap. 🙂
Sadly though, with all the expansion and building of casinos in this small peninsula of China, it is growing to be sort of a modern western country in Asia. However, the culture can still be seen from among its people and the people’s way of life. And if the locals can keep that culture and preserve the old Portuguese and Chinese structures, then it will still be a nice place to visit for culture-inclined people, like me. 🙂
I’m not really fond of gambling in casinos (although I did quite gamble a few times when I was in Las Vegas which made me won about $20plus dollars – not bad for a beginner. Haha.), so I made it a point to leave Venetian and the other well-lit, colourful buildings towards the end of the day.

SIGA is an acronym of SSEAYP (Ship for Southeast ASEAN Youth Program) International General Assembly. Each year, Japan or an ASEAN-member country hosts this 4-day assembly of SSEAYP alumni. As May 1 – 4 are Japanese holidays, SIGA is always held on these dates. And this year, it was held in Waterfront Hotel and Resort (Lahug), Cebu City. About 300 international and local participants went to Cebu to witness and participate in this assembly.

My college friends and I got together yesterday in Powerplant for an overdue reunion. Zhel announced that she’s leaving the country next month, while Peachy and Chrize also announced that they have plans of leaving the country next year. 😦
I really don’t have any plans of leaving the country and building a professional life abroad. I only have plans of pursuing my further studies abroad and still come back and get settled here. I don’t know what it is but the more I travel abroad, the more I realize how nicer it is to live here. 🙂
All those announcements will leave me almost alone here (the other two, Irish and Lou Anne are now proud mommies settled in Batangas, while Gavino is still in the US, and Sheryl, in Dubai).
While now home and looking at the photos of what we had this afternoon, I noticed that it was an afternoon full of calories! Haha! :-p I think that it might have been an effect of Zhel’s sudden announcement of leaving us. I actually thought of satisfying my sweet tooth as well earlier (Today was a holiday which meant that my diet was also on a holiday – some excuse haha… :p ) but my determination to lose some weight this month won over that silly excuse. So, I got myself a Japanese Green Tea instead after a Grilled Chicken Salad at Grams Diner. 🙂

Cooking has never been appealing to me. I would sing, dance, act, speak on stage, do yoga, play some sports, and would dare to try anything in this world, except for cooking.
I grew up having my hands-on mom do the cooking for us. When I went to a college far from home, I stayed in a dormitory run by nuns where meals were all prepared for us. When I started working, I ate out most of the time, and whenever I got the chance to stay home – at my Aunt’s place at that time – cooking and all other forms of food preparation were never a problem. She always had a cook run the kitchen. Basically, I spent my 26 years in this world in most places except the kitchen. I have never fancied myself cooking for dinner get-togethers or family dinners. I have always seen myself as the guest, but never the host.

The trip to CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) was planned way back in July. But then, I had to cancel it since I had to go somewhere else. 🙂 I was glad that it pushed through last weekend despite a signal number 2 typhoon crossing over.
